CASE STUDY: BRINGING COMMERCIAL PRACTICE TO THE CHARITY SECTOR
The Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH) is an independent organisation, with an international reputation, aiming to promote the highest standards of public health.
RSPH recognises that education is vital to achieve and maintain high standards. It is an accredited awarding body and has a leading role in providing qualifications directly relevant to the workplace. They work with industry and training organisations to establish market leading qualifications and their portfolio is viewed as a benchmark for quality.
Oriel Marketing was consulted following a period of significant change at RSPH. With changes in personnel and increasing competition there was also renewed focus on financial achievement. The qualifications were well established and successful but there was a need to upgrade the marketing.
We were able to help them identify potential growth areas, how best to target their markets and put in place specific implementation plans. With the advantage of an outsider’s perspective together we were able to clarify their product range, select priorities, identify new markets and establish a communications strategy. We have also helped to improve the presentation of materials with the introduction of web-based material for colleges and employers to access on demand. This keeps costs low and allows rapid change to keep abreast of developments in their market.
By recognising the need to change and taking this practical approach, RSPH are now well placed to achieve their charitable objectives. They have an effective marketing plan and good foundations in place for further launches. To find out more about their excellent work in public health visit www.rsph.co.uk
